You know what excites us about Paris? And no, it’s not the Eiffel Tower or the macarons like you were probably expecting. We have been in Paris for the Salon de la Plongée (Paris International Dive Show), which started on January 6.

The main themes of the exhibition are sustainable tourism and developing an eco-friendly approach to diving. There is also an emphasis on the fight against global warming and the protection of marine life.

There will be a diverse range of professionals and industry experts attending from travel agencies, tour operators, diving centers, diving equipment manufacturers, and diver training and certification organizations.

Environmental activist organizations are also in attendance, including the Manta Trust, which is an awesome charity created to coordinate research and conservation of manta rays and their habits. Some other organizations that are attending include:

Today, the 9th of January, is the last day of the exhibition and will cover a series of lectures on the fundamental basics of sustainable diving. François Sarano, an acclaimed oceanographer and diver and this year's main sponsor of the exhibition, will be speaking on the subject. He will be accompanied by other speakers as well, which include industry experts such as Isabelle Leckerf, Sylvie de Soyet, Stephen Surina, Mark Langler, Dominique Barre, Herve Colombini, and others.
